Viola Marie (Berry) Yasin


Viola Marie (Berry) Yasin, 53, of Springfield, passed away at 8:00 AM Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in her residence.

She was born July 27, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of Edward McIlroy and Alice (Reynolds) Pierce. Viola had been employed at Quality Food Market in Yellow Springs.

Survivors include her step-father, Earl Pierce, Springfield; four children: Dorothy (Carol) McIlroy and Ronald (Cansas) McIlroy all of Springfield, Shawnta Griffith, Dayton, and Alyce (Michael) Matthews, Springfield, eight grand children, sisters Joy (Joseph) Parsley and Pamela (Jack) Parsley all of Springfield, and a brother Mike (Loraine) Pierce of Springfield, a special friend Sherry Dooley, Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mohammed Yasin and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in Ferncliff Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services in the chapel. Burial will follow. The family is being served by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
