Jarold E. "Jerry" Wiles


Jarold E. "Jerry" Wiles, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 11:49 AM Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Community Hospital. He was born September 7, 1919 in Logan County, Ohio, the son of Samuel E. and Bessie (King) Wiles.

Jerry was a member of the Eagles, the V. F. W. Post 1031 and the D. A. V. Chapter 13. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during W. W. II and was attached to the 37th Infantry Division. He was retried from the Elliott Company and N. C. R.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years; Katherine (Sine) Wiles, one daughter and son in law; Karen and John Cunningham of Springfield, three grandchildren; Brian (Julie) Cunningham and Bradley ( Aimee) Cunningham of Springfield, and Brent (Gail) Cunningham of Fairborn, seven great grandchildren; Joshua, Charles, Alex, Sarah, Cameron, Ethan and Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ferman E. Wiles, two sisters; Margaret Hughes and Bernice Wiles and his parents.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM with Pastor Eric D. Kennaugh officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery.
