Evelyn "Jeannie" Whitacre


Evelyn "Jeannie" Whitacre went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2008.

She was born on April 29, 1941, daughter of Elwood D. and Katherine (Walker) Vince.

Jeannie was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church for 30 years, was the nursery director, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir. She will always be remembered for her compassion and giving to her many friends and family. She was a dedicated mother to her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Marshall Karlan Whitacre; sons, Aaron Whitacre and Craig (Andrea) Whitacre; daughters, Carrie (Ivan) Conley and Beth (Bryan) Szekacs; grandchildren, Eric, Michael, Joshua, Patrick, and Madison Conley, and Austin and Adam Szekacs; sisters, Diane Pringle of Mansfield, GA, and Connie (Ralph) Burris of Springfield; brothers, Roger (Frieda) Vince of South Vienna, Mike (Shirley) Vince of Springfield, David (Cheryl) Vince of Springfield, and Rick (Edie) Vince of Springfield; and many more family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 5-8 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME- SPRINGFIELD, with funeral services on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11 AM. Pastor Kevin Boggs officiating. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, 1704 Sunset Ave., Springfield, OH.
