Betty L. Whitt


Betty L. Whitt, 66, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007 in the Community Hospital.

She was born on April 18, 1941 in Lodi, Ohio the daughter of Earl R. and Eunice (Lane) Shook.

She worked for over twenty-two years at the K.W. Hess Ohio Pythian Home (Castle Knoll). Betty attended Maiden Lane Church of God and was known as the "Mother of the Tubman Towers" because of her devotion to helping out her neighbors and friends where she lived.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Freeman of Springfield, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Earl Salyer and John and Jennifer Salyer all of Springfield, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, special friend, Naomi, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 1:00pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
