Edgar Vest


Edgar Vest, 90, of Springfield, died at 7:04 p.m. Monday November 3, 2008 in Springfield Regional Hospital High Campus. He was born May 4, 1918 in Springfield, OH to Fred and Mary (Neir) Vest.

Edgar retired from the City of Springfield as an equipment operator after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Union Club, Eagles aerie 397 and the Machinist Club.

Survivors include 2 sons and spouses, Gayle D. and Janet Vest, Columbia, SC and James E. and Judy Vest, Springfield; 5 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Hopkins, AZ; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His wife, Anita J. in 1977 and a son, Roger E, preceded him in death.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
