Carroll Voorhees


Carroll "Butch" Voorhees, 59, of New Carlisle passed away Friday November 14, 2008. He was born July 30, 1949 in Fremont, Ohio the son of the late Franklin & Priscilla (Garner) Voorhees.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a Scoutmaster of Troop 27, New Carlisle. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City. He retired from civil service at Wright Patterson AFB.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bertha "Birdie" (Krumnow); a son, Paul & Stacie Voorhees of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother, Dave & Cheryl Voorhees of Luckey, Ohio; a sister, Diane & Bill Fleming of Lindsey, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Weller; a nephew, Greg Weller.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-8 p.m. Monday November 17, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City. Funeral service will also be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Faith Lutheran Church, Fremont, Ohio with a visitation two hours prior to services. Burial will follow in Mud Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Boy Scouts of America.
