Marjorie M. Thornburg


Marjorie M. Thornburg, 82, of Springfield passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, July 10, 2007 in the Mercy Medical Center.

She was born January 24, 1925 in Cedarville, Ohio, the daughter of Oscar F. and Sarah (Anderson) Everhart. Marjorie enjoyed collecting dolls, antiques, traveling and working in her garden. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Elbert E. Thornburg of Springfield; one daughter, Joyce Cummins of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Barb Sutherland, Richard and Denise Sutherland and Tom and Deb Sutherland all of Springfield; 12 grandchildren, Tonya, Jamie, Cammy, Carla, Kerina, Adam, Christy, Jerri, Matt, Kayla, Kelley and Kaleigh and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Chester Floyd Sutherland; three sisters; five brothers and grandson, Christopher Sutherland.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 1-2 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
