Alford L. Tyler


Alford L. Tyler, 85, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on Sunday, July 13, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 9, 1923 in Flushing, Ohio a son of James Earl and Faye Etta (Wilson) Tyler.

He retired from General Motors after many years of service.

Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years; Ann Tyler, a son; Walter Tyler and a daughter; JoEllen Collins.

He is survived by two sons; Rodney (Michelle) Ragland and Alfred (Michelle) Ragland, two daughters; Udora Ragland and Alfreda "Buffy" (Ricky) Mays all of Springfield, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the mother of his living children; Joan Ragland.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m.-12 noon in El Bethel Temple. Funeral services will follow in the church at 12 noon. The family will be present at 11 a.m. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
