Verna L. Slade


Verna L. Slade, 83, of West Liberty, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 21, 2007 in Mary Rutan Hospital.

She was born September 5, 1923 in Seminary, Mississippi, the daughter of Albert Eugene and Janie Lucille (Shoemake) Lee.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Lyman Gantz of West Liberty; sister, Thelma Lee of Seminary, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Kyle (Kristy) Gantz and Brannon (Jamie) Gantz; great-granddaughter, Kari Denae.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Bruce Slade; three sisters; and two brothers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Highland Chapel, West Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 with Pastor Justin Erickson officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
