Russell T. "Ted" Steinberger


Russell T. "Ted" Steinberger, 76, of Springfield, died Tuesday December 18, 2007 in his residence.

He was born May 29, 1931 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Warren H. and Josie Iona (Deere) Steinberger.

He was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force where he served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeant Association, Retired Enlisted Association and National Association of Retired Military. Ted was also retired from Navistar and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 402.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn L. (Rice) Steinberger and a sister and brother-in-law, Anna Louise and Stanley Shinn of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Carl Steinberger.

Private services will be held for the family. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joseph Smith, Dr. David Monjot and many special friends. The family is being served by LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
