Phyllis A. Shay, 79, formerly of Springfield, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 in the home of her son Tim.

She was born in Springfield on July 26, 1928 the daughter of Judson J. and Mabel (Kieffer) Hufford. She worked for Hoffman-Greene Jewelers and later worked for Gold Design.

Survivors include her four children and spouses, Nancy L. and Kevin Shaffer of Cincinnati, Gail (Berner) and Robert Shipley of Springfield, Richard H. and Kimberly Shay of Cincinnati and Tim and Pam Shay of Lafayette, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Karen Shay of Morehead, Kentucky; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Dick Miller of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L., son Phillip and granddaughter, Sarah.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Conroy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice.
