Carol Jean Patterson


Carol Jean Patterson, 73, a resident of Mercy St. John's Center for the past five years, went to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, June 16, 2007. She was born in Springfield on February 25, 1934 the daughter of John Frederick and Helena Louise (Holzmiller) Wright.

Carol Jean retired as a division secretary from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She was an accomplished musician and vocalist in high school and was a member of the choir at Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, maintaining an immaculate home, and traveling to Florida and out West.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard J. Patterson of Urbana; daughter, Denise A. Patterson of Springfield; son, Scott E. Patterson of Urbana; and a cousin, Delores Carlisle of Santa Clara, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Wendell Hakala officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
