Alice Marie Otstot


Alice Marie (Ogg) Otstot, 83, of Springfield died Thursday, November 20, 2008. She was born January 12, 1925 in Champaign County, the daughter of Clyde and Helen (Cushman) Ogg.

Alice was an active member of the First Baptist Church, a volunteer at Community Hospital for many years, and was active in the agricultural community her entire life.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon M. (Ronald) Jennings of Springfield and Susan (Richard) Bates of London, Ohio and a son, Roger S. (Patricia) Otstot of Billings, Montana; four grandchildren, Natalie J. Jennings, Matthew B. Jennings, Joshua A. (Julie) Jennings and Miles J. Otstot; four great granddaughters, Sara M. Rice, Jessica T. Rice, Bailey R. Jennings and Josie L. Jennings; a sister, Faye Weaver and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Otstot, her parents, a brother, Robert Ogg and a sister Ruth A. King.

Her body was entrusted to CONROY FUNERAL HOME where friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Her body will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Whitt officiating. Interment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 638 South Fountain Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
