Richard Eugene McGowan II


Richard Eugene McGowan II, 23, of Springfield, passed away at 2:17 PM Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Ohio State University Hospital.

He was born February 18, 1984 in Springfield the son of Miriam Marie Lathey and Richard Eugene McGowan. Rick attended and was a hard worker in the Conerstone Pentecostal Church. He graduated form Northwestern High School where he was awarded the YES I CAN award. He had worked at McDonalds on Upper Valley Pike and at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, his foster parents Freeman and Shirley Justice, his fiancé Kelly Masters, bothers and sisters: Miriam (Bruce) Booth, Tammy Lathey, Diana Lathey, Naomi McGowan, Walt McGowan, Nicole McGowan, Billy Seavey, Jenelle Marrs and Jamie Marrs; special friend Tim Cooper (who was like a father to Rick) and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 8 PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor John Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
