Robert R. McDaniel


Robert R. "Mac" McDaniel,Sr., 81, of Springfield passed away Friday evening, March 30, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center.

He was born October 18, 1925 in Springfield, the son of Lafe and Claudie (Ferrell) McDaniel.

He served in the Army Air Corps from February 1944 to December 1946 and was a World War II Veteran.

Mac was employed by Lagonda Tool Company and had his own business, Mac's Design Service, for many years. He was a 54 year member of Anthony Lodge #44 Free and Accepted Masons, a life-member of the Elks, and member of the Maiden Lane Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty J. (Click) McDaniel of Springfield; three daughters, Marsha Frank of Enon, Susan LaBonte Neiheisel (Jerry) of Cincinnati and Lisa (Phil) Scott of Enon; one son, Robert R. McDaniel Jr. of California; nine grandchildren, Tami, Heather, Crhis, Andrea, Lukas, Valerie, Melissa, Michael and Megan; eleven great-grandcildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carolyn McDonnell and Mary Jane Smith.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, April 2, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Maiden Lane Church of God, 1201 Maiden Lane, Springfield with Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating.

Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors.
