Lois L. Maxwell


Lois L. Maxwell, 94 of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008 in the Eaglewood Care Center.

She was born on March 13, 1913 in Ironton, Ohio the daughter of Ira and Rebecca (Day) Woods.

She retired in 1995 from the Springfield City Schools food service department. She was a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, American Business Women Association, Grandmother's Club Madonna of the Trail Chapter, Pythian Sisters, United Transportation Union Auxiliary and Elderly United.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard "Dick" and Janet Maxwell of Springfield, granddaughter, Marla and Craig Heaton, grandson, Richard "Rick" and Roberta Maxwell, step grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryan Collins, and Heather Burton, sister, Phyllis Stooksberry of Springfield, two nephews, Keith and Mike Stooksberry, and niece, Charlene Boccardi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles A. Maxwell in 1983.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 5-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am with Pastor Bud Rose officiating. Entombment will be in the Ferncliff Mausoleum.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Varghese and Mercy ICU nurses, Kim and Karen for their extra care shown to Lois.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Moorefield Township Fire Department and EMS.
