Elizabeth M. McCombs


Elizabeth M. McCombs, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 after a short stay in the Ohio Masonic Home.

She was born June 14, 1933 in Springfield, the daughter of Lloyd S. and Elizabeth (Brown) Whipp.

She was an active member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Past MCO of Khana Shahar Caldron, Order of Eastern Star Home City Chapter #258, and was awarded Kentucky Colonel.

Elizabeth is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Chris L. and Joyce McCombs of Springfield, Mark L. and Joan McCombs of Bellevue, Ohio, and Shawn F. and Laura McCombs of Springfield; two grandsons and their spouses, Brian and Shayna McCombs, Jeff and Anna McCombs; six granddaughters, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Katherine, Tory, Megan and Kristy; and three great-grandchildren, Trent, Zoe and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-eight years, Laymen McCombs in 1999; sister, Evelyn; and brother, Kenneth.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, September 24, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 712 North Fountain Avenue, Springfield. Visitation will also be held Tuesday from 11-12 p.m. in the church.

Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
