Daniel F. McBlane


Daniel F. McBlane, 86 of Enon passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 25, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-Fountain Campus.

He was born January 24, 1922 in Paisley, Scotland, the son of John and Grace (Mullins) McBlane.

Dan was a Mason and a member of the VFW 1031, Moose Lodge, Eagles, DAV and Union Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country proudly during World War II and the Korean War. During his time in the military, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star and numerous other medals. Dan was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will always be remembered as a man who put people first and loved his country. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Jean A. McBlane of Enon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Ron Bland of Columbus and Carol and John Wendell of Enon; one step-daughter, Lisa (John) Lewis of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel E. and Barb McBlane of Springfield, David and Kim McBlane of Wilmington, Ohio and Donald and Terri McBlane of Springfield; one step-son, Michael (Jeannie) Randall of Piqua, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Tincher of Springfield; one brother, David McBlane of Chandler, Arizona; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Delores Murray; son, Buddy McBlane; sister, Mary Fent; two brothers, Samuel and John McBlane and two grandsons, Jeff Murray and Russell Bland.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from Noon-1 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery with Military Honors.
