Barbara Diane McDaniel


Barbara Diane (Miller) McDaniel, 55, of Troy, Ohio, passed away June 14, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was born May 23, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of Elbert J. and Marjorie C. Miller.

Barb was a 1971 graduate of Northeastern High School and Clark County JVS and attended DRET School and Sinclair Community College. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Upper Valley Medical Center. Barb was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was recently baptized at Springfield Church of Christ, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her son, Brian McDaniel and grandson, Caleb McDaniel, the loves of her life, both of Troy; Mother, Marjorie C. Miller, brothers Randy Miller (Jackie) and Michael Miller (Karen), both of Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. She also loved the girls she worked with at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. They were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert J. Miller, in April 2007 and a brother, Thomas E. Miller, in 1950.

A special thanks from the family to Hospice of Miami County for all their care and assistance during Barb's illness.

Services will be Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Ferncliff Cemetery, where family and friends may call from 10:30 AM until time of services with Minister Bob Hughes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc., P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Richards Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
