Judy Wile Kossoff


Judy Wile Kossoff, 65, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 in the Community Hospital.

She was born on May 23, 1942 in New York, New York the daughter of Robert A. and Eva (Saxe) Wile.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University. Judy taught English at Gahanna Lincoln High School, Catholic Central High School, and was a substitute teacher for more than twenty-five years with the Springfield City Schools mostly at Springfield North High School. She was involved with the Junior Service League, Meals-on-Wheels, served on the Board of Trustees at the Temple Sholom, and started the Temple Blood Bank.

She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Mark Kossoff of Springfield, two sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Lauryanne Kossoff of Chicago, and Andrew and Dee Kossoff of Columbus, twin sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Marc Stern of Silver Spring, Maryland, grandchildren: Illysa, Seth, and Sophie, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m, November 23, 2007 at Temple Sholom, 2424 N. Limestone St., Springfield, OH 45503. Entombment will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Judy Wile Kossoff Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the Springfield Foundation, 4 W. Main St., Suite 825, Springfield, Ohio 45502. The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
