James Russell Hosier


James Russell Hosier, 75, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 11, 2008, in his residence.

He was born July 15, 1932 in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of Lester and Wilma (Young) Hosier Sr.

Mr. Hosier was an accomplished roller skater and had traveled across the country in skating competitions. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a retired Interior Decorator for Wrens Department Store.

Survivors include a sister; Susan Massie, Springfield, two brothers; Thomas E. (Wanda Seagraves) Hosier, Springfield and Jerry Hosier, Orlando, Florida, a sister in law Alma Geraldine "Jeri" Hosier, Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers; Jack, Donald, Robert and Lester "Pete" Jr. and his parents.

At Mr. Hosier's request his remains will be cremated and there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
