John Leonard Horton


John Leonard Horton, 43, of Springfield, passed away at 10:43 AM Saturday, May 24, 2008 in his residence.

He was born April 22, 1965 in Springfield, the son of Kenneth Richard and Mona L. (Fleming) Horton.

John attended Oakland Presbyterian Church and was active in the Special Olympics. He enjoyed Nascar racing, fishing, camping and music.

John was employed at TAC Industries and attended the Town and Country Day School.

Survivors include his mother; Mona Horton, two brothers; Richard Allan (Trina) Horton, Fort Worth, Texas, and Charles Eugene (Amy) Horton, Springfield, one sister; Barbara Jean (Delmar) Porter, Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tony Everage officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

If desired memorial contributions may be made to Clark County MRDD or to Community Mercy Hospice. John's family wishes to give special thanks to the staff from Hospice and to Dr. Singh and Dr. Felix.
