Evelyn Warren Heil


Evelyn Warren Heil, 78, of Springfield was born August 21, 1930, and left this life as she lived it, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

Evie was a graduate of Wittenberg University and was an artist and teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Herschel Warren and Esther (Snyder) Warren Counts and her sister, Nancy King.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kimberly Jackson (Brian Eanes), Sarah Smith (Terry Hartman), Geoffrey (Michelle) Smith and Tracy Smith (John Beitelspacher), and Nhanny Heil; grandchildren, Sarah (Shawn) Stradling, Laurel (Eddie) Johnson, Jacob Smith (Angela Thompson), Michael Smith, Tyler Tanner, Jessica (J.R.) Medina, and Richard, Christopher, and Rachael Matthews; great grandchildren, Bradley Jackson and Alyssa Stradling; a sister, Linda Smith D.D.S; as well as a special friend and partner, Hobart Charles Drum and many, many other friends and family.

Evie cared for five generations of her family, changed the lives of hundreds of students, and touched thousands of people on her journey.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for nearly 60 years, where the family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and entry into the church triumphant on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Pollock officiating.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
