Bennie H. French


Bennie H. French, 68, of Springfield, passed away at 10:32 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in his residence following four and one half months of serious illness.

He was born October 7, 1940 in Springfield, the son of Charles and Hattie (Richards) French. Mr. French was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Am Vets. He was a retired machinist from KOI.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years; Gloria ( Gillespie) French, four children; Lorie (John) Allen, Angie (Bill) Williams, Melissa (Jack) Behrens, all of Springfield, Benjamin (Becky) French, Catawba, eighteen grandchildren, five step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters; Mary (Chuck) Houston, Columbus, Donna (Roger) Mabin, New Carlisle, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a great grandson; Billie Williams IV, a brother; Arlen Walker and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vernon Asbury Cemetery.
