Robert B. Brumfield, Sr.


Robert B. Brumfield, Sr., 80, of Springfield, died at 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in Community Hospital.

He was born November 11, 1926 in Springfield to Ansel T. and Mary A. (Shope) Brumfield. He had been employed as a lift operator for Navistar for 30 years retiring in 1987. He attended Oakland Presbyterian Church and was a member of UAW Local 402.

He is survived by two grandsons and spouses, Michael (Mary Bethe) Brumfield, Springfield and Craig (Christy) Brumfield, Louisville, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandria, Laura, David, Ashton, Chesney and Keaton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. in 2003, a daughter, Linda Sue Brumfield, a son, Robert B. Brumfield, Jr. three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Conroy Funeral Home< with Pastor Laurie Davis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
