Robert E. Bobst


Robert E. Bobst, 79, of Springfield, died Tuesday June 26, 2007 in Villa Springfield. He was born February 20, 1929 in Clark County, Ohio, the son of Clayton and Mexie (Miller) Bobst.

He retired from Navistar in 1991 after thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of the Pitchin United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Northridge Lions Club. Bob was a member of UAW Local 402 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Champion Aerie 397.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-one years, Mary K. (Shoemaker) Bobst; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lee and William Runyan of Mechanicsburg, Margo Smith and Richard Cammeson of Brentwood, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Virginia Bobst of Springfield; two little buddies, Casey and Leroy; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy L. (Marlene) Shoemaker, William (Faye) Shoemaker Charles (Betty) Shoemaker all of Springfield; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Ray) Lockard of Springfield; dear and special friends, Dennis and Dianne Storts of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Fred Bobst.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 30, 2007, with Rev. Paul Price, officiating. Burial will be in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery.
