Marie Imogene Billet


Marie Imogene Billet, 85, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, with her family by her side.

She was born on April 13, 1922, daughter of George and Martha Smith.

She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her entire life to her family. She was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God and fulfilled the great commission as a disciple of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by 4 sons, Charles W. Sr. (Judy) Billet, Robert E. Billet, James D. (Julie) Billet, and Kenneth R. (Patricia) Billet; daughter, Constance I. (Dave) Thomas; 5 sisters, Lelia Hebebrand, Ann Everhart, Nellie (Marshall) McDonald, Helen Beatty and Donna (Charles) Stant; In-laws include John (Betty) Billet, Clarence (Carol) Billet, Ann (Chester) Johnson, Sarah Whitehead who was also her caregiver, and Patricia Billet; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Irene Lowe.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Billet; and 4 brothers, Elwood, Jimmy, George, and Jack.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 5-8 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME - Springfield, with funeral service on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11 AM with 1 hour prior visitation at Maiden Lane Church of God. Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating. Interment to follow at Vale Cemetery.
