Marcella Faye Bean


Marcella Faye (Grimm) Bean, 88, of Springfield, went on her walk with Jesus Thursday evening, September 4, 2008 in Mercy St. John's Center.

She was born in Champaign County on January 20, 1920 the daughter of Norris and Ida Jordan.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Home Rd.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Grimm of Springfield and Jack and Barbara Grimm of St. Paris; a sister, Barbara (Raymond) VanHoose of Westville; four grandchildren, Gary (Melissa) Grimm Jr., Robin (Carl) Flaugher, Jack (Anne) Grimm Jr., and Todd, (Monica) Grimm; eight great grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, Whitney, Chad, Derek, Mackenzie, Madison, and Braden; a sister-in-law, Joyce Roberts of Urbana; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul Grimm; second husband, Elwood Bean; two sisters, Colleen Kuhns and Vicki Smith; and three brothers, Glen, Raymond and Bill Roberts.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in High Street Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dene Anstine and Pastor Bret Layton officiating.

Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League or Community Mercy Hospice.
