Jean E. Baker


Jean E. (Artz) Baker, 90, of New Carlisle, passed away Thursday December 25, 2008. She was born June 5, 1918 in Montgomery County, Ohio the daughter of the late Scarff B. & Olive (Senseman) Artz.

Jean was a retired bookkeeper and college graduate of God's Bible School, Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is survived by daughters, Trish & Keith Byerman of New Carlisle, Julia & Pete McNamee of Woodruff, South Carolina; sons Larry Baker of Colorado, Doug & Jennifer Baker of Huber Heights, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Drake of Troy, Ohio, Ruth Frost of North Carolina; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, C. Gordon Baker; a daughter, Jenny J. Baker; a granddaughter, Jennifer Roddy; brothers, Kenneth & Bernard Artz; twin sister, June Longworth.

The family would like to thank the staff at Belle Manor for the loving care she received.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday December 28, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle Ohio with Pastor David Perry officiating. Visitation will be 12 to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
