Isabel C. Bailey


Isabel C. Bailey, 88, of Springfield passed away Saturday evening, April 26, 2008 in the Mercy St. John's Center.

She was born October 19, 1919 in Springfield, the daughter of Leroy C. and Minnie (Reed) Shepard.

Isabel was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Wittenberg University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She was a 50 year member of the YMCA and enjoyed square dancing and playing bridge with her friends.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth G. and Bobbi Bailey of Chapin, South Carolina; two brothers and sister-in-law, David and Shirley Shepard of Springfield and Edwin Shepard of Bainbridge, Washington; two grandchildren, Nicole Abraham of South Carolina and Lindsay Spires of Georgia and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard E. Bailey.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
