Martha Jeanne Wilkerson


Martha Jeanne Wilkerson, 87, of Springfield, died Sunday June 24, 2007 in Hearth and Home.

She was born March 17, 1920 in Donnelsville, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Edna (Little) Fross.

She graduated from Wittenberg University in 1942 and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served on numerous committees.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Thomas Starr of Milford, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Debbie Wilkerson of Plymouth, Michigan, Robert Wilkerson of Springfield, John and Cindy Wilkerson of Canton, Michigan; two grandchildren, James (Amy) Starr of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patrick Wilkerson of Canton, Michigan; great-grandson, Riley Starr; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James S. Wilkerson.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 South Wittenberg Avenue, with Pastor James Christian, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 South Wittenberg Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45502.

Inurnment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
