John P. "Jack" Walsh


John P. "Jack" Walsh, 86, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Springfield, died at 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 in West Chester.

He was born January 5, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio to John N. and Mary Ellen (Quirk) Walsh.

Jack was self-employed as a barber for 25 years and later worked as a real estate agent with Pitstick Realty. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life member of the Knights of Columbus #624, a lay minister at St. Joseph and St. Raphael Church and a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys L. (McCoy); two children and spouses, Duane (Kathi) Deakyne, West Palm Beach, Florida and Mary Therese "Trese" (Richard) Dvorsky, West Chester, Ohio; five grandchildren and one sister, Jeanette Franzen, Springfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Frank Myers and a sister, Loretta Kearns.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday in the Conroy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Caylor officiating.
