Janet Mae Wallace


Janet Mae Wallace, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center - High Street Campus.

She was born on June 22, 1924 in Springfield the daughter of Rowe W. and Florence LeLa (Lane) Scott.

Janet worked at the Tot Shop for fifteen years and was manager of the shoe department. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 397 Aerie.

She is survived by Barbara (Larry) Burton-Sutherland, and Victoria J. (James Cox) Skaggs all of Springfield, six grandchildren: David Wayne Birt Jr., Shaun Timothy Birt, Jamie Reneé Fent , Jayson Scott Skaggs, John Michael Skaggs, and James Preston Skaggs; fourteen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of thirty-nine years, John Wallace.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 6-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
