Eugene Scott White


Eugene Scott "Gene" White, 75, of Springfield, went Home to be with his Lord and family at 5:30 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2008. He was born February 27, 1933 in Springfield, the son of Mitchell S. and Florence L. (Seevers) White.

Gene was a loyal member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. He was dedicated to the sport of bowling as well as traveling to watch competitive games. He also enjoyed watching his nephew race at Kil-Kare Raceway. He was retired from Navistar in 1986 and was a member of the Local # 402. Gene was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years; Sue C. (Shafer) White, son and daughter in law; Paul and Paula White, grand daughters; Angela (Ben) Babian, Brook White (Rodney Glenn), Megan Oty-White, Bryana White, grandson; Brandon Oty-White, great grandchildren; Nathan Phillip Plotner and Katie Marie Plotner, sister; Shirley A. White, sister in law; Jean Baldwin, special friends; Lee Shatto, Larry Sewell, Stan Thompson, Flip Lucas, Lou Church and Ralph Dunfee, and several special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister ; Helen Sulkens, two brothers; L. D. White and Jack white and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, in the funeral home, with Pastor David Yingling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
