Charles R. Ward


Charles R. Ward, 64, of Springfield, died at 5:10 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007 in his residence.

He was born October 13, 1943 in Paintsville, Kentucky to George and Essie (Bowens) Ward. He had worked as a truck driver for V&K Trucking for 14 years.

Survivors include four children and spouses, Richard & Patty Ward, New Carlisle, Robert & Janet Ward, Tresa Ward and Melissa & Eric Woodland II, all of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 19 grandchildren; his ex-wife Betty Ward; a step-son, David & Sandy Wooten, Ewing, Virginia; one brother, Dave & Shirley Ward; two sisters, Lois Jean Paul and Allene Litton and numerous and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brian in 2004 and a brother, George.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Glen McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
