Howard D. Simpson


Howard D. Simpson, 61, of Springfield, died Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 in Community Hospital following several months of failing health.

He was born in Springfield on October 4, 1945 the son of John and Bertha (Goheen) Simpson.

Howard worked as an independent truck driver and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Sandy (Murphy) Simpson; a daughter, Heather Simpson; step-daughter, Kimberly (Dave) Nangle; three sisters, Beverly (Jim) Reisinger, Charlene Kennedy and Karen (John) Price; two brothers, Jack (MaryLee) Simpson and Sam (Pat) Simpson; brother-in-law, Ken (Angie) Delaet; several step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Angela Hall; a sister, Imogene Gochenouer; brother, Charles Simpson; and step-granddaughter, Cassie Hall.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Carol Gesalman officiating.

Burial will be in Newcomers Cemetery.
