Eddie Louise Strachan


Eddie Louise (Lacey) Strachan, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday evening, October 7, 2008 in the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born August 2, 1912 in Fountain City, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Irene (Duke) Lacey. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Springfield since 1942. She was member of American Business Womens Association for forty years; she spent many years as a member of Young Womens Mission and was a Planned Parenthood volunteer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ronald Landwert of Sun City West, Arizona; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Becka Strachan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Paul Bortner of Greenville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Todd and Douglas Landwert, John and Scott Strachan and Kristina Minier; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 60 years, Harry Strachan in 1997; three sisters, Lucille, Pauline and Florencetta; three brothers, Clifford, Claude and Harold and grandson, Barry Landwert.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Raymond Stewart officiating.
