Elizabeth J. Staley


Betty J. Staley, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007 in the Elm Croft Assisted Living in Xenia.

She was born on July 27, 1920 in Springfield, the daughter of Lloyd L. and Myrtle (Lyons) Booghier.

She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. Betty worked in the Springfield City Schools for twenty-four years retiring from South High School as an Administrative Aid.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Staley) and Norman Brown of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and her son , Richard L. and Connie (Nill) Staley of Jamestown; four grandchildren and their spouses: Laura Brown, Darlene Colbourne, Cheryl and Curtis Ayers, and Melinda and Scott Creech; eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Richard M. Staley.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 12-1:00 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A graveside service will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm in the New Carlisle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
