Robert A. "Bob" Rowand, Jr.


Robert A. "Bob" Rowand, Jr., 58, of Springfield, died Saturday evening, November 3, 2007 in Community Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Springfield on July 29, 1949 the son of Robert A. Rowand Sr. and Janet (Rothaar) Rowand Landis.

Bob worked as a manufacturing engineer for Robbins & Myers Moyno Division for 35 years. He volunteered with the Moorefield Township Fire and E.M.S. for 26 years as a firefighter and paramedic and served as a captain for the past twelve years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and Grace Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Gina R. (Booghier) Rowand; three daughters, Elissa (Micah) Berner of New Carlisle, Amy Rowand and her fiancé, Ryan Glass of Springfield, and Lindsay Rowand of Springfield; a granddaughter, Grace Renee Berner; and two sisters, Judy (John) Faessler of Maineville, Ohio and Karen (Keith) Young of St. Paris.

Also surviving is Gina's family, Dana and Cindy Booghier and Joe and Patty Athy, all of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Firefighters' turnout will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Private funeral services will be held Friday. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moorefield Township Fire and E.M.S., 1616 Moorefield Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45502.
