Juanita Mae Reed


Juanita Mae Reed, 78, of Springfield passed away at 7:30 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in her residence.

She was born April 23, 1929 in Olney, Illinois the daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Cook) Dunlap. Mrs. Reed attended the Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Shooting Stars square dancing club. She also enjoyed camping, especially with her family. Juanita had worked for the J. C. Penney Company for 21 years.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years William D. "Bill" Reed, two sons; Terry (Sandy) Reed Sr. and Roger (Kay) Reed all of Springfield, six grandchildren; Terry Lee Reed Jr., Tina (Joe) Ramsey, Nikki (Ben) Wallace, Heather (Sam) Minier, Adam (Erin) Reed and Elizabeth Reed, one great grandson Conner Reed O'Neal, two sisters Anita (Glen) Etheridge, Griffith, Indiana, and Vanita (Bill ) Gibbs, Merrillville, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Bernita Rae Young and a brother Darrell Lee Dunlap.

Friends may call in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUENRAL HOME from 4 until 8 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Gibbs officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Mercy Hospice in Juanita's memory.
