Eleanor L. Riley


Eleanor L. Riley, 78, of Springfield passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 5, 2008 surrounded by her loved ones in the Forest Glen.

She was born February 9, 1930, the daughter of Euril and Mary (Guisinger) Saunders.

She attended Springfield City Schools, Clark Technical College and worked as a secretary for most of her life and her last job was working for a local psychiatrist for 12 years where she retired in 1999. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends and loved all kinds of animals. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Chris Cooney of Yellow Springs, Ohio and Tom (Rosa) Cooney of La Mesa, California; one daughter and caregiver, Sally Jo (Scott) Wilson and special son-in-law, Robert B. Wilson Jr., all of Springfield; one brother, Lowell D. (Carol) Saunders of Springfield; two granddaughters, Gina McBride Sturgeon and Shauna Cooney both of La Mesa, California; one great granddaughter, Reese Cooney of La Mesa, California; three special nieces, Sharon (Jay) Shawver and Susan Springer both of Springfield and Cyndi Tincher of Florence, South Carolina and several other nieces and nephews and a special friend, Chet Soales, Honde Joseph, Mark Husk and special dog and faithful companion, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry "Scrap" Riley in 2005 and sister, Lois J. Lustig in 2007.

"Mom, one final kiss to you from all of us, may you now rest in peace." From your beloved family.
