David L. Russell


David L. Russell, 68, of Springfield, died November 20, 2008 in Springfield Regional Hospital High Street Campus.

He was born August 11, 1940 in Springfield, OH to Virgil L. Russell and Lorraine (Russell) Wobbe. David retired in 1976 as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1031 and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sharla A. (Patterson); mother and stepfather, Lorraine and Earl Wobbe; 9 children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter and sister.

Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the V.A. National Cemetery, Dayton, OH
