Claude Arthur Ruby


Claude Arthur Ruby, 76, of Springfield, formerly of Oxford, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 6, 2008 in Oakwood Village.

He was born on November 28, 1929 in Manchester County, Michigan the son of Claude E. and Eva Jane (Patrick) Ruby. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He managed the HCF Farms for over thirty-years and had a love for horses. Claude was also a member of the Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly fifty-three years, Mary Ann (Campbell) Ruby of South Charleston, one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Susie Ruby of South Charleston, four grandchildren: Megan, Kelsey, Erin, and Leah Ruby; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Geri Ruby of Lapeer, Michigan; his beloved forty-five nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Chum", and his best friend, John Katsoulos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lilly Dell, and three brothers: David, Jim, and Ezra.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church, 353 E. Vienna St., Clio, Michigan; where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston.
