Andrew P. Riemenschneider

Andrew P. Riemenschneider, 75, of Springfield, died at 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Essex of Springfield.

A man of integrity, Andrew was born August 15, 1932 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Edward A. and Elnora (Korsgen) Riemenschneider.

He will be missed by his most beloved wife of 54 years, Rosemary (Schindler); three daughters and spouses, Barbara (Grant) Edwards, Springfield; Beverly (Mark) Elliott, Franklin, Tennessee; and Carol (Ken) Ober, Springfield; eight grandchildren and spouses, Megan (Chris) LeMaster, Emily and Matthew Edwards and Aaron, Renee, Jared (Jamie), Ethan and Marcus Elliott.

In many ways, Andrew's life was defined by the strong relationship he had with his beloved Rosemary: when it came to Rose, Andrew always put her first, and her joys were his joys. His three daughters were literally the lights of his life. Andrew's love for his children was demonstrated best by what he did for them through numerous selfless acts. Andrew found great satisfaction in his life's work as an aircraft electrician for Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he worked in the wind tunnel and on the flight line for 35 years (retiring in 1999). Andrew had attended St. Raphael Church, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and volunteered at the U.S. Air Force Museum. His hobbies included flying model airplanes with his friends and watching NASCAR.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. George Varghese for all his care over the years.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Polycystic National Kidney Foundation.
