Gene H. (Maclin) Queen


Gene H. (Maclin) Queen, 91, passed away Tuesday June 26, 2007 at the Good Shephard Village.

She was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio to the late Besse and Edgar Forquer.

She was employed at Kelsey Hayes and retired in 1973. Gene was a member of the Springfield Fortnightly club writers. Gene was a pianist and published song writer; who participated in a string ensemble, and sang for various civic groups, churches, and nursing homes. Gene also played for the Maiden Lane Church of God Sunday school junior department. She was raised in the Maiden Lane Church of God and most recently attended the Hillside Church of God.

Gene is preceded in death by her first husband Herman H. Maclin; son, Stephen Maclin; granddaughter, Lisa; step daughter, Joyce L. Walls; twin sister, Helen Oakley. She is survived by her husband Roger E Queen; son, Doug (Sheila) Maclin; step children, Larry (Gloria) Queen, Philip (Sue) Queen, Beverly (Rick) Cox; grandchildren, Diana, Bill, Tina, Tammy, Heidi, Steven and numerous step grandchildren and great grand children.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield with Pastor Mike Criner officiating. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Friday June, 29, 2007 in the JACKSON LYTLE & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield.
