Leon L. Pyles


Leon L. Pyles, 79 of Springfield died Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Community Hospital.

He was born in Mutual, Ohio on June 11, 1928, the son of Leo and Mahala Rose (Miller) Pyles.

Leon was self-employed in live- stock hauling and enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and wheeling and dealing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia Mae Pyles; and an infant brother.

His survivors include his companion Lucille Mathewson; one son Ron (Kisha Dodds) Pyles; two daughters Connie L. (Steven) Sanders and Susan (Paul) Packer; foster brother John "Jack" Wright; seven grandchildren Blair & Nicole Pyles, Ronny Lynn Pyles, Rena & Craig Smith, Jamie & Debbie Sanders, Chris & Lori Sanders, Mike Packer, Kim & Carl Chaffin; fifteen great-grandchildren; and loving friends the Winterhoff family.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 1-4 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Monday at 10:00AM in the memorial home with Rev. George Reed officiating. Burial to follow in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
