Edith S. Prosser


Edith S. Prosser, age 100, of Springfield, Ohio passed away at her residence Thursday, August 30, 2007.

She was born to the late Benjamin David and Rosa Santin Remsberg in San Juan Puerto Rico. Edith was a 1924 graduate of the New Moorefield High School and played on the county champion basketball team. She was a 50 years member of the Farm Bureau; the Ohio State Grange and the Tremont Grange #90. She also belonged to the Faith in Christ Lutheran Church.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband, of over 60 years, G. Douglas Prosser, brothers; Raphael M. Remsberg and B. Arthur Remsberg, sisters; Mae Schilling, Alice Tonkinson, and Ida Gray.

Edith is survived by her sons Winston (Shirley) and George (Joyce) Prosser, grandchildren; Sue Haerr, Valorie (Bob) Bivans, W. Douglas (Donna) Prosser, George N (Barbara) Prosser, Garth E. (Molly) Prosser, great-grandchildren; Mitchell and Devin Prosser, Jacob and Josie Bivans, G.Garrick Prosser, and Maxwell Michael Prosser.

Family to receive friends Monday, September 3, 2007 from 5 to 8pm at the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 2425 N. Limestone St. Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Faith in Christ Lutheran Church 1603 Moorefield Rd., with Rev. Jeffrey Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in Edith's memory to the church.
