David L. Perkins


David L. Perkins, 60, of Springfield, died Monday evening, December 17, 2007 in his residence following several months of failing health.

He was born in Gallia County on March 4, 1947 the son of Willis and Sylvia (White) Perkins.

David worked as a master machinist for Robbins & Myers Moyno Division for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. (Griffin) Perkins; a step-daughter, Amy Jo Atha of Springfield; step-son, Bruce Duerstine of Enon; four grandchildren, Tonya J. Atha, Tammy J. Atha, Dalton A. Duerstine, and Robert K. Atha; three sisters, Barbara Neff of Springfield, Ethel (Mark) Henry of Springfield and Sandra Perkins of Ripley, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-4 p.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45206 or the charity of your choice.
