Jarold D. "Jerry" McLean


Jarold D. "Jerry" McLean, age 62, of Springfield, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007.

He retired from Navistar with 37 years of service, was a member of the American Legion Post 286 and served as Past Third District Commander. He was a member of the Eagles #397, Social Club, Union Club and was a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of six years, Shirley; mother, June O'Brien; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa (Jerry) Gladman; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne (Cindy) O'Brien, Robert (Rhonda) Cleelan, Michael (Dawn) Cleelan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie (Charles) Pinkerman, Kelly (Kenny) Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis (Jennifer) O'Brien; step-sister, Patty (Gary) Russell; step-brother, David (Linda) O'Brien; two special uncles, Dink Auckerman and Carl (Virginia) Auckerman; special cousins, Bob (Sue) Burke, and Connie (Shannon) Jackson; special friends, Jay Coleman, Paul Grashall, Tim Hisey, Joe Denson, William (Ida) Willis, and friends at Maple Grove Campgrounds; 10 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, David Dale O'Brien.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 3, 2007, from 4-8 pm in the Jackson Lytle Williams Funeral Home, 2425 N. Limestone St., with an American Legion Post Everlasting Service following at 8 pm. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday, May 4, 2007, at 10:30 am with Pastor Cary Simonton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
