Harold G. Massie


Harold G. Massie 85, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the Community Hospital. He was born on November 24, 1921 in Springfield the son of Lossa and Esther (Kirkpatrick) Massie.

He served our country during World War II in the United States Navy. He later was employed at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Civil Engineer retiring with\ thirty-three years of service. Harold was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge 51 and the Fraternal Order of Eagle 397 Aerie, and the Moose Family Lodge 536.

He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Donna J. Ogan of Springfield; one daughter, Brenda Massie of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Lisa Massie of Springfield; one grandson, Dale Massie Jr. and his wife Kim, two great grandchildren: Chealsie and Christopher; niece, Sylvia Shediack, three step daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Dennis Kokoruda of Cincinnati, Dee and Al Wichner of Springfield; and Dana and Tom Passerello of Florida; five step grandchildren, and several step nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Massie, one sister, Neta (Bowen) Bolinger, and one brother, Robert Massie.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday from 1-3 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with a service to begin at 3:00 pm that day. Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Community Hospital for all of their care and support. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
